Conceptual Process - Coming up with an idea that works to meet your branding efforts is where we
begin the mental musings. The abstract space called “The Beginning” is where we gather all of the
bits and pieces, move them around in relation to one another, play with possibilities and begin to
sketch a skeleton. The first bits and pieces are taken from what you bring to us such as your products,
packaging, logo, website and other marketing collateral. Taking into consideration your target
demographic, we search thousands of images from the popular culture and choose certain ones to
drop into the mix of data used to inform the design of your display. Our goal is to come up with a
concept that powerfully emanates your brand image. An effective display will cause people to have
a positive emotion and come closer to examine your products. People purchase products when they
have an emotional connection to the process.
Architectural Considerations - Once we have come up with a basic concept or direction, the left brain
part of the process fires into action. Budget is the first consideration. We use your price point as a
gauge when we are planning what materials we can use, kinds of graphics, etc… Since we come from
a background in designing for manufacturing, our designs are efficient to build, easy to assemble and
package beautifully. We sometimes have folks give us designs to manufacture that have been drawn
by a graphic designer. Most of the time, these displays are not “manufacturable” and we need to
re-design from scratch to make it work. When our designs are complete, our clients have a
photorealistic rendering and we also have the dimensioned CAD drawings ready to hand over to the
engineering team.
Planogram Optimization - We work in a 3D engineering program called Autodesk Inventor. This program allows us to model your products and move them around in virtual space. In real space it is
extremely challenging and time consuming and thus expensive to try to arrange products on a display
that has not been produced yet. We here at PopDesigner take that burden off your back and arrange
them in 3D computer space so you can see exactly how your products would present themselves to
prospective buyers. Our clients tell us how many of each product they wish to display and we move
them around in the space we have created to show the various possibilities. This has taken a huge
headache away from our clients and given them the peace of mind in knowing that their products
are placed in the most efficient and effective way within their footprint.
Graphic Design - Though we do mock up your display graphics for your rendering, our display design
fee does not include graphic design or final pre-press artwork for your display. However, we do offer
this service to those clients who wish to employ us. We have created posters, header graphics,
brochures, logos and other marketing collateral to be used at retail. These services are quoted
separately and we will be happy to work with you in this fulfillment. |
